How to help with the claims process:
- Do not accept liability on the spot.
- Collect these information which are essential in speeding the claim process:
- Particulars of the other party (their vehicle registration, name, address and contact)
- Particulars of the other party’s insurers
- Injuries caused.
- Police officer(s) and report references.
- Full details of what happened.
- Photographs of the scene, the cars, the damages and the persons involve.

Processing and settling of your claim:
- Explanations on why other people (e.g. surveyors) will be involved in the claims process and what their role will be.
- Requests for original repair estimates or the replacement invoices.
- An explanation of how your type of claim is usually settled, for example:
- By paying you
- By paying someone else such as the garage repairing your vehicle
- By repairing or replacing the lost or damaged item
- Payments to be made to you after agreeing to the settlement by signing a Discharge Voucher.
